CNN —Astronomers have used the James Webb Space Telescope for a fresh perspective of an iconic celestial favorite called the Ring Nebula. The new image captures never-before-seen details within the colorful nebula, located in the Lyra constellation about 2,600 light-years from Earth. The structure of the Ring Nebula can be glimpsed through amateur telescopes and has been observed and studied for years. “I first saw the Ring Nebula as a kid through just a small telescope. “The James Webb Space Telescope has provided us with an extraordinary view of the Ring Nebula that we’ve never seen before.

This latest Ring Nebula picture isn't just "aesthetically pleasing," said co-lead scientist Nick Cox of space observation firm ACRI-ST, France. As part of the space telescope's first series of images, scientists released stunning new photos of the Southern Ring Nebula, in July 2022. The two stars can be seen on the MIRI cam picture of the Southern Ring Nebula.

Management consultancies helped design vaccination programs during the pandemic and are currently providing advice on how to rescue one of the world’s biggest banks. The $230 billion management consulting industry is a broad church: it includes companies offering everything from project management expertise to designing new organizational structures. Many big firms — think EY and KPMG — also conduct audits and advise on their clients’ tax issues, though these services are generally seen as distinct from their consulting work. In The Big Con, published in February, prize-winning economist Mariana Mazzucato and her co-author Rosie Collington argue that management consultancies “infantilize” governments by keeping them dependent on their services. Nearly 80% of firms surveyed globally have told the think-tank that consultants’ work is either of high or very high quality, she noted.

A coin depicting Sponsian, who researchers say was likely a Roman army officer who declared himself emperor in the third century. A new analysis of rare Roman coins said to have been unearthed more than three centuries ago but long dismissed as forgeries provides compelling evidence that the gold pieces are authentic—and that the crown-wearing man whose likeness appears on one of them was a real historical figure who ruled as a Roman emperor almost 2,000 years ago. “The coins are the only evidence that he existed,” Paul Pearson, a University College London professorial research associate, said of Sponsian, the man depicted on the coin. “There’s no historical written evidence at all. It’s a real thrill to sort of bring somebody back from obscurity.”
